More reformer classes will be added this summer!!! If you are interested in schedule privately for reformer, trios, duos or privates, please contact the studio. We are selling grip socks in the studio, and define shirts! What is Barre? Let’s first clear the air, no dance experience necessary! Have you ever admired a dancers long, lean, beautifully sculpted legs, arms, abs, not to mention glutes? If you want that lifted, sculpted seat (at any age) barre will do it. Not to mention, you will know doubt increased flexibility. You may be put into a dancer “position”, first or second, but you wont be dancing. You will be holding your posture in those positions, doing smaller range of motions at different speeds, isolating the muscle group we are working. Our CORE is incredibly important for keeping us balanced through the entire workout, and to support proper body posture. This will carry over how you stand and carry your body through day. The smaller movement=change in your body. Learning to “embrace the shake” will make a quick transformation in your body. Shaking=changing!!!
During your Define in 55 class, you’ll get a full body workout every time! The goal is to burn out each muscle group, then immediately stretch those muscle. By stretching right after, we create the long, lean and defined muscles. We work the small intrinsic and stabilizing muscles. Think you are pulling muscle close to the bone, instead of building the muscle out. What I love about barre is you do get cardio workout, without impact on your joints or back. We use only 2 to 3 pound weights (sometimes get crazy with 5s), a workout ball, therapy bands, gliders, the bar for support and our own body weight! By adding weights, it ups the cardio factor and really gets your heart pumping, all while having fun!!! Hope to meet you at barre very soon!
What is Pilates Reformer?
What is DDP Yoga? It’s a unique fitness program created by Hall of Fame wrestler Diamond Dallas Page (DDP). 20 years ago he blew out 2 discs in his back and was told his career was over. As his recovery was coming along pretty slowly, his wife suggested he try yoga. Reluctantly, he gave it a shot only to find it had some positive effects on his healing. He went on to combine traditional yoga moves with physical rehabilitation moves and old school calisthenics to create DDP Yoga. The workouts offer a great cardio workout that strengthens core muscles and increases flexibility all while experiencing minimal joint impact. Just about everything is modifiable , and individuals can make their workouts as easy or as challenging as they can handle. Those that have tried DDP Yoga have seen results vary from massive weight loss to regained mobility. If you’ve never seen the viral youtube video about the disabled veteran named Arthur Boorman and his success using DDP Yoga, you really should check it out.
